The Burj Khalifa (Torre Caliph) is the tallest building in the world with a height of 828 meters. More than 12,000 people from 30 countries participated in the construction of the building. It was formerly known as Burj Dubai.
To get an idea of its height it is best to compare it with the most famous skyscraper in the world, the Empire State of New York. At 381 meters high (431 if we include its antenna), the New York skyscraper is half that of the Burj Khalifa.
Construction of the Burj Khalifa began on 21 September 2004 and ended on 4 January 2010, more than a year later than expected. The skyscraper stands out for having a large number of residential plants, something unusual so far.
